ME ♥
I is Qiqi, I is Claire.. is born on 6 OcT 1984.

I like to know wat other people are thinking.. Not only wad they think abt me but oso wad they're thinking abt other things.. I like to observe how someone behave in a situation & why they do so. I'm an introspective person.

I dun like horror movies, they're a waste of money and shorten lifespan and end up having neurosis. Unless it's FOC and i'm prepared to be watching just 1/5 of the movie. Else, i'll rather watch funny, cute, romantic or action-packed movies.

I wana eat healthy food, practise my religion but often end up eating junk and nodding off when listening to my Buddhist teachings.

I LOVE dogs especially big, sunny dogs = golden retrievers!! They're jus so inviting, huggable and outdoorsy..

I am interested in many things and like to learn about many different things, however, I dun have the perseverance and have a tendency to skim the surface.

I like to accept that the only thing constant is change. Makes life exciting & challenging.
I wish that everyone greets with hugs :D

Tragedy in Oklahoma
Tuesday, May 10, 2005

Amateur Charles Porter describes how he captured the defining image of the Oklahoma City bombing in April 1995. His pictures won a Pulitzer Prize.

I am talking about two photographs that I took on 19 April 1995 from the Oklahoma City bombing.

One being of a policeman handing an infant to a fireman and the other of a fireman gently cradling this lifeless infant.

I have these images in front of me here, looking at them now, and there are things that strike me.

One is that the fireman has taken the time to remove his gloves before receiving this infant from the policeman.

Anyone who knows anything about firefighters know that their gloves are very rough and abrasive and to remove these is like saying I want to make sure that I am as gentle and as compassionate as I can be with this infant that I don't know is dead or alive.

And the second image is of this fireman just cradling this infant with the utmost compassion and caring.

He is looking down at her with this longing, almost to say with his eyes: "It's going to be OK, if there's anything I can do I want to try to help you."

He doesn't know that she has already passed away.

perhaps in spore, firefighters dun encounter such tragic events.. a bliss.. but i'm sure tt when the time arise, they would do the very same thing any other firefighters in the world would do.. the courage, compassion and bravery they show is commendable..

diff photographers take diff subjects.. for those who choose to cover wars and the tragic side of life, they bring the reality to us.. unlike anythg tt happened in the movies.. at times, we should take a proactive approach as some normal "lao bai xing" and contribute back to the society, do our part to make a better world.. however, some photos could prove too gruesome for us to accept in this highly censored society.. so we choose to ignore instead..
